Implement New IAP & Assess Progress - General Tasks Checklist

Command Staff General Tasks

Incident Commander

  • Monitor on-going incident management activities.
  • Review progress of assigned tasks.
  • Evaluate prior decisions, direction, priorities, and information requirements.
  • Receive periodic situation briefings.

Public Information Officer

  • Evaluate media effectiveness and adjusts Media Plan as appropriate to meet IC/UC objectives and/or guidance.

Safety Officer

  • Monitor on-going operations and corrects unsafe practices.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of Form 208 Site Safety Plan and Form 215a Safety Analysis.

Liaison Officer

  • Maintain communication channels and address any issues or concerns of participating and affected stakeholders.

General Staff General Tasks

Operations

  • Direct the implementation of the IAP.
  • Monitor on-going incident operations and makes strategic and tactical changes, as required and recommended by field supervisors/leaders.
  • Measure/ensure progress towards assigned operational objectives.
  • Debrief personnel coming off shift.
  • Brief command and planning on accomplishments, issues, and concerns on a scheduled basis.

Planning

  • Ensure on-going operational information is being collected and documented.
  • Measure/ensure progress against stated objectives.
  • Develop new/revised incident objectives and provide to IC/UC.
  • Maintain up-to-date Situation Status Display.
  • Debrief personnel coming off shift.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation of incident including information management process.

Logistics

  • Ensure on-going and future operations are provided support and services.
  • Maintain interaction with Command & General Staff and external logistical contacts.
  • Evaluate program and modify to enhance operations.

Finance

  • Monitor on-going operations to ensure accurate, timely administrative and financial reporting.
  • Maintain interaction with Command & General Staff and external financial contacts.
