INCIDENT COMMAND MEETING FOR INCIDENT MANAGEMENT

  • Transition Command and possibly, the Incident Command Post
  • Agree command protocols and type of command
  • Agree to Name of the Incident
  • Assign tasking to the various emergency response organizations
  • Provide any additional direction to the IMT related to transition
  • Determine any Resource needs and any Support needs
  • Set Operational Period (time needed to complete response objectives)
  • Establish delivery time for the first IAP
  • Determine if there is a need or requirement to move to a different model of Command; and if so, determine what Agencies have Jurisdiction and Authority.
  • Establish a means to maintain situational awareness

Note: This meeting presumes a more fully established Incident Management Team that will transition to the Incident Management Phase. The work product of this meeting supports the Command Objectives meeting. Additional guidance may be found in the Shell Incident Management Handbook, Part B: Incident Management. The work done here is in preparation for the first Command Objectives Meeting.
