Command Staff General Tasks
Incident Commander
- Provide guidance and clarification.
- Provide leadership presence and motivational remarks.
- Emphasize response philosophy.
Public Information Officer
- Provide current media statement and contact numbers, if required.
Safety Officer
- Provide safety briefing on: injuries/near misses; preventative/corrective actions; top hazard issues and safety considerations.
- Cover safety components of new operational areas.
- Available throughout meeting to field questions and provide answers and solutions.
Liaison Officer
- Assist IC/UC with communications with all participating organizations.
General Staff General Tasks
Operations
- Provide operational briefing for next operational period.
- Ensure Form 204 tasking is clear and resolve questions.
Planning
- Set up briefing area and facilitate briefing.
- Assign briefing responsibilities to Command & General Staff and other attendees as appropriate.
- Deliver up to date, detailed situation briefing.
- Resolve questions.
- Explain support plans, as needed.
- Make adjustments to IAP, if necessary.
- Ensure any last minute IAP changes that will effect the status of resources are documented.
Logistics
- Brief transportation, communications, medical, and supply issues.
- Resolve questions.
Finance
- Summarize administration issues and provides financial report.
- Resolve questions.
