Purpose

  1. Describe strategies and tactical plan to achieve IC/UC's direction, priorities and objectives.
  2. OSC presents proposed plan to the Command & General Staff for review/comment.
  3. OSC discusses strategy and tactics that were considered and chosen to best meet IC/UC's direction for the next operational period.
  4. OSC briefly discusses how the incident will be managed along with work assignments and resources and support required to implement the proposed plan.
  5. Provides Command & General Staff the opportunity to discuss and resolve any issues and concerns prior to assembling the IAP.
  6. After review/updates are made, planning meeting attendees commit to support the plan.

Critical Outcome

  1. Finalize Form 215 Operational Planning Worksheet (tactics/resources) to support field activities for the next operational period & brief tactics using Common Operating Picture.
  2. Review and/or assign Form 233 Open Action Tracker items identified during meeting.
  3. Gain IC/UC verbal approval of the next operational period Incident Action Plan or obtain understanding of modifications required for approval.
