Human Resources Officer

Responsibilities

The Human Resources Officer (HR) will advise the Incident Commander on issues related to employee and contractor personnel affected by the incident. Activation of the HR is optional and generally occurs when needed to address significant personnel issues. For small incidents, the HR will also manage human services activities including personnel welfare (evacuees, missing persons, family assistance, information call centers, etc.) and liaise with medical facilities caring for affected personnel. For large incidents the HR will likely establish subordinate positions such as Personnel Tracking, Facility/ Services Management, Family/Next of Kin Assistance Coordinator and Hospital/ Medical Facility Liaison to assist in managing personnel and HR issues. The set up of Evacuee, Next of Kin, Family Assistance or any other facilities will be coordinated with the Logistics Section.
