Documentation Unit Leader
Responsibilities
The Documentation Unit Leader (DOCL) is responsible for establishing a filing system for the maintenance of accurate, up-to-date incident information that will constitute the incident's legal record. Examples of incident documentation include: Incident Action Plan, incident reports, communication logs, injury claims, situation status reports, etc. Thorough documentation is critical to post-incident analysis. Some of the documents may originate in other sections. This unit shall ensure each section is maintaining and providing appropriate documents for inclusion in the incident file. The DOCL will prepare meeting minutes, track open action items and maintain the Incident Event Log. The DOCL will, after the response is terminated, provide to the IC the complete set of incident files to store for legal, analytical, and historical purposes.
