IMS Coach

Responsibilities

The IMS Coach is responsible for providing process continuity and consistency throughout the response organization. Under the direction of the Incident Commander, the IMS Coach is responsible for facilitating the establishment of an appropriate Incident Management System (IMS) organization. The IMS Coach provides IMS process expertise to the Incident Commander (IC) and the response team. The IMS Coach attends all Planning Cycle Process meetings as necessary, to ensure meeting continuity. The IMS Coach will also help to ensure proper meeting etiquette and time contracts associated with meeting duration are observed.

Review common and leadership responsibilities.
Under the IC, facilitate the establishment of an appropriate organization.
Provide IMS process expertise to the IC and response team.
Attend all Planning Cycle Process meetings as necessary, to ensure meeting continuity.
Ensure proper meeting etiquette and time contracts associated with meeting duration are observed.
Be available to attend press briefings to clarify technical issues.
Maintain Form 214a Individual Log and forward to Documentation Unit Leader
