Responsibilities

The Resource Unit Leader (RESL) is responsible for maintaining the status of all assigned tactical resources and personnel at an incident. This is achieved by overseeing the check-in of all tactical resources and personnel, and maintaining a status-keeping system indicating the current location and status of all these resources.

Checklist 0/19

Review common and leadership responsibilities.
Review Unit Leader responsibilities.
Obtain briefing and special instructions from Planning Section Chief.
Establish the Form 211 Check-In function at the Incident Command Post (ICP) and all established incident facilities.
Work with Staging Area Manager(s) (STAMs) in the field to ensure they are using the Form 211 Check-In process to track equipment and personnel arriving and departing the staging area.
Prepare Form 203 Organization Assignment List and Form 207 Organization Chart working with each Staff Officer, Section Chief and Unit Leader.
Ensure appropriate resource tracking process is established and communicated.
Maintain resource summary of all tactical resources checked in at the incident.
Coordinate with Operations Section to ensure Form 210 Change Status Forms are used when resources are reassigned to another location.
Provide status reports to appropriate requesters.
Work with Operations and Logistics to review Form 213 RR Resource Request and provide input on resources available in staging.
Coordinate with the Situation Unit Leader (SITL) to maintain and post the current status and location and assignments of all tactical resources.
Work with Operations and Environmental Unit to prepare Form 234 Work Analysis Matrix to support Form 202 Incident Objectives.
Draft Form 215 Operational Planning Worksheet with Operations, Environmental, and Safety to determine required resources needed to implement tactics in the field and what additional resources need to be ordered.
Prepare appropriate parts of Form 204 Assignment Lists.
Attend meetings and briefings as required by the Planning Section Chief (PSC) and planning cycle process.
Provide resources and organization information to Situation Unit Leader (SITL) for situation status display.
Ensure that resource status display is up-to-date and accurate.
Maintain Form 214a Individual Log and forward to Documentation Unit Leader (DOCL) for disposition.
