Deputy Operations Section Chief

Responsibilities

The Deputy Operations Section Chief (DOSC) is as fully qualified as an Operations Section Chief (OSC). The role of the DOSC is flexible. Specifically, the DOSC may support the OSC: a) In a relief capacity; b) by managing the Operations Section in the Incident Command Post (ICP) while the OSC participates in the incident planning process; c) by supervising field operations in lieu of an On-Scene Commander (OC). The DOSC may be selected from other organizations/agencies/ jurisdictions in a multi-agency/multi-jurisdictional incident.
