• Review common and leadership responsibilities.
• Receive briefing from Operations Section Chief/Deputy (OSC/DOSC) (or On- Scene Commander [OC] or OPBD when activated) or person you are relieving.
• Identify resources assigned to the division/group.
• Provide the Incident Action Plan (IAP) to subordinates, as needed.
• Review division/group assigned tasks and incident activities with subordinates.
• Implement the IAP for the assigned division/group.
• Assemble and demobilize task force/strike team, as appropriate.
• Supervise division/group resources and make changes as appropriate.
• Ensure through chain of command that the Resource Unit Leader (RESL) is advised of changes in the status of resources assigned to the division/group, using the Form 210 Change Status Form.
• Coordinate activities with adjacent division/group.
• Determine need for assistance on assigned tasks.
• Work with FOBS/SITL to ensure field tactics and information gets into the Common Operating Picture (COP).
• Report hazardous situations, special occurrences, or significant events, e.g., accidents, sickness, discovery of unanticipated sensitive resources, to the immediate supervisor.
• Ensure that assigned personnel and equipment get to and from assignments in a timely and orderly manner.
• Resolve logistical issues within the division/group.
• Participate in the development of branch plans for the next operational period, as requested.
• Evaluate the demobilization of excess resources well in advance of demobilization.
• Submit situation and resources status information to the OPBD, OSC/DOSC/ OC, as directed. Debrief as directed at the end of each shift.
• Maintain Form 214a Individual Log and forward to Documentation Unit Leader (DOCL) for disposition. 95
